SaltwaterFish reef packages

I'm very interested in purchasing a reef package from this site, but why in the Heck do they put a CBS in every package? I'm not about to take a chance of putting one of these in my tank after all the stories I've read about them. Will they substiute something else? If not, I'm going to have to give my business to someone else because I'm not putting it in my tank and I'm not going to kill it when they send it.

I thought of that, but we only have one store left where I live and they suck. They won't take anything for credit and since they are the only ones left, they have raised their prices like 50%.

They will probabaly substitute it for something I'm sure, but yes it's a wise move on your part to not put one in. I've had very bad luck with them. When I saw one eating my Xenia under the luner lights he was gone the next day.

Well, I emailed SWF.com and in one sentence they said they don't substitute anything in their reef packages. I would think they would substitute something as questionable as a CBS stating my reasons but I guess not. I was going to order one of the big reef packs also. I may still order it and just take a chance with the CBS. If not, I will order another from someone else but they really have a pretty good deal here.
Just trying to support the board first.

I guess you looked at the Big 20 and others? There are several combos that don't have CBS.
Just trying to be a blessing.

Actually I did not. I was thinking the 20 referred to 20 gallons and I have a 90 gallon tank. Thanks. I'll consider those also and add on what else I want if I don't just go ahead and get the CBS. Some people seem to have good luck with them and I do have a pretty large tank.

When I was ready to get my "reef package", they had a lot of things I didn't want and only one or two had the cleaner...which I did want. But I bought everything seperate and put together my own "reef package" from this sight and it was pretty much the same cost... blue legs, and coral banded and a couple of other things, I simply didn't want...

I don't know which one you are lookin at but on the "ultimate invert package" if you nix the coral banded, add 15 nassarius snails (they are only sold in qty's of 20) and subtract 5 scarlet hermits, the price is $155 as opposed to their $149 as is...

Worst case scenario, you get the package you were looking for and sell/give/trade someone on here the CBS. Lots of people don't like them, but I'm sure just as many do, and there are a lot of reefers in Florida. :)

Tizzo,
That's a good idea. I guess I just assumed that buying them separate would be much more. I'll price out what I want and see where I am.

I'm curious as to why you don't want the coral banded shrimp? I had one in my reef tank, years ago and it lived fine with the anemone's, other fish and coral.
