Sand algea

I had my tank set up for about 2 weeks now and the sand is getting a brown color to it. Is it algea. Do I need to get more snails and hermits? Help!!

sounds too me that it is normal cycle algae

Yep thats normal, the brown algea is called diatoms. It is an algae you get at the end of your cycle. It will go away on its own or with the help of inverts, so yes you can get more snails or hermits if you want to.
