sand amount

Hey all, I forgot to ask, how much sand will I need. my tank is a 55gallon octagon. Also, can I just scoop out all the crushed coral and put the sand directly in? Or what do I have to do to it first. (I moved last summer and all my books are still packed out in the garage somewhere.)

You can just scoop it out and put in the new sand... IMO you would need about 100lbs of sand...
