I have a Via Auqa 750 Canister Filter. It works pretty good. You can fine one for about 90-100 bucks. As far as maintenance they are pretty straight forward but you have to disconnect hoses, open up the filter and clean the media trays. I wouldn't recommend one if you don't enjoy cleaning filters. I don't mind cleaning it so I think it 's a pretty good filter. I run a black one inch sponge and charcoal in the trays, which I clean every week. It keeps the water sparkilng clean. :joy:

No modifications needed. The aforementioned canister filter comes with everything you need. It comes with hoses, spraybar, and suction cups.Pretty easy to use. You can set it up anyway you want to.
