I believe maintenance of a well established DSD can be very minimum...I try to keep a diversity of life that sifts the upper layers and avoid excessive disturbance of the lower layers. Other than that I try to follow the same husbandry procedures as those without a DSB...provide adaquate circulation/filtration/lighting etc
Plus I do all I can to limit the introduction of excess waste and nutrients.
