Sand clouded tank

Just took out my CC for a DSB. 100 lbs of southdown and 20 of live sand. In my 65 gal tank added the sand a little at a time and still got a dust storm. Yes I rinced the sand first. It's been two days now an the tank is not clearing up. Had to take out my Lr ,clean it and put in another tank. Is there any way to speed the clearing up of the tank. Should I turn of the PH or leave them running? My fish don't like it in my Qt tank. Any Ideas?

Check your PH's, if you have one pointing to the bottom of the tank then you may need to point it up a bit. If not, let it go for a few more days... it will clear up eventually.

After a week, mine is still a little hayzee. I'm leaving the filters on to get all the ultra fine particles out. Not to mention my clown stir's it up when wants to.
It is important to rinse non live sand before adding!

I am having the same problem with South Down. My tank is still cloudy after 2 days. I tried doing a water change but that just stired up more of a problem. Should I wait to add the LR? Will this happen everytime I do a water change?
I am considering just pulling out all of the South Down and starting over!??

With the tank this cloudy can I keep my fish in the tank? 2 clowns 2 yellowtails 1 red serpent,1 cleaner and 2 sexy shrimp an A clam?
My Ph is pointed strait out into the tank not at the sand.

Let it settle. It will I promise, and I don't normally promise much on here.
As long as you are not stirring it up with powerheads, your messing around in the tank, or as mentioned fish stirring it up, the cloudy water will eventually clear up. It may take several days to weeks, but it does clear.
2-3 days of cloudy water is by no means a reason to get overly excited.
We always want instant gratification and results, but this hobby is built around patience.
Just let it clear on it's own.

Another option is the use of a Diatomaceous Earth filter. Not the typr you l;eave on for an extended period of time. I found that by using mine (System 1) while cleaning tank sides etc, removed all algae scrapings beautifully. It also helped immensely when I set up the new tanks. That sand rinsing takes a long time! I gave it a quick rinse, ran the DE filter for an hour or so and cleared up beautifully. Just my $.02

broomer's right give it a chance it will settle out. sometimes it just takes a good while.
