Okay good. Well I've already decided to chuck the plenum system for the dsb as you all reccommend. As I said, I'm eager (and I WANT IT NOW) but I'm really in no hurry in actuality. SO... Dead Argonite -- is this sand that comes from the ocean? Should I buy it from a fish supply store? Can I get it at Ace Hardware, etc.? (Only safe stuff in my tank! How can I tell?). I wanted to buy the 40 lbs Nature's Ocean from this site (and still may wait to do it). But I could do this quicker if I could use less expensive sand and maybe put 20lbs of LS for starters. 50 gal -- so 50 lbs of sand apx?
Finally, So, I won't be using the 'ole "suction out the rocks" method, eh? My critters will do it? (I have six hermits, 2 snails... and 22 lbs of cured LR right now... problem is... I don't want to take much out of my current tank before my other is cycled (because of the current overload)... but I also NEED to use the stuff from my current tank. I just don't have $80 bucks for sand and another $160 for more/new LR.
