I have 45 lbs LR in my 46 BF. Last night I added 55 lbs. aragonite sand. Tonight the tank is about 85% clear.
Does the sand bed need to be a uniform depth or can it vary? I haven't adjusted the sand yet. The depth ranges from 1" to 2" on average. In a couple of areas it's as deep as about 3 1/2". Do I need to level this out?
I've added about 1 1/2" of sand to my Aquafuge2. Is that depth ok?
Also, I'd like to add Cheato to the fuge. The tank is about 5 days into its cycle. Ammonia has dropped from 1.0 to .5. Nitrite is steady at 1.0 and Nitrates have risen to 30. When would it be safe to add the Cheato?
