Sand Dust??

Would alot of sand dust that is sitting under my sand bed from my LS give off a Nitrate Reading? The aquarium is clear and all but loads of sand dust underneath

Do you mean like dust that has settled through to the bottom of live sand? I suppose it could have nitrates in it.

Nitrate is not gonna come from sand dust, its going to be a product of organic material such as food and fish wastes.....It can settle in the dust but dust alone is not a reason for nitrates.
