what kind of gravel or sand should you use for sharks

Generally the finer the better. If you live on the east coast, I would say to get South Down sand, cheap and very fine. Stay away from cc for 2 reasons- 1) Sharks have pretty smooth undersides and sharp gravel could cut it because most sharks that fit into aquariums are bottom dwellers 2) Sharks are pretty messy eaters and cc is a detritus magenet and ditritus cause high nitrates.
