My tank is doing great. Its a 47 bowfront. My Issue is the sand on the front of the tank my powerheads seem to push the sand back a bit so the acrylic floor shows. I have tried to find that happy zone with the powerheads. Either it Pushes my frogspaun too hard the way I have it now seems good with my corals but the sand is a issue is that good or bad to have the floor showing? can i just push the sand back? or use a smaller powerhead? thanks for your thoughts

What type of power head are you using? I have a 46 bowfront. I use 2 koralia PH's. The one is a Koralia 2 pointing up and toward the back of the tank and the second one is a Koralia nano pointing towards the front of the tank. It seems to be just the right ammount.

Just find the happy placement for the powerhead. Move it to the other side. Move it up or down on the wall it's on then point it up or down. Just keep moving it until everything is okay.

I have a total of 2600gph of flow in my 55g tank and my substrate grains are smaller than suger grains. There should be a spot to point your powerheads to keep them from shifting your substrate too much, you may have to move them to different locations or move them up or down in the tank. Also if you are using direct flow powerheads like maxijets it is a little more difficult than using broad stream powerheads like the sureflow modded maxijets or the Koralias powerheads.

As mentioned, move your power heads until it is just right. I have one blowing straight across the sand and another blowing up higher and an the opposite direction.
