Sand Issues

My tank has been up and running for quite some time. At this time i only have 2 clownies. It's 30 gallon tank. My sand is driving me crazy and I think I may have tube worms or something like that. They have taken over the sand. I have tried to vacuum out the sand and taken lots of the stuff out but the keep coming back. Is there something that will eat them that I can put in the tank?? I used to have serpent stars, but they didn't help with this issue.

Whats wrong with feather dusters? A pic would greatly help as well

Nope not feather dusters. I know what they look like. These things are in the sand and use it for their bodies so to speak. Coming out of the shoot is a hair like structure 2 of them usually. Not feather dusters at all.
