Sand Question

IS there any other type of sand that can be used besides Southdown that can be purchased at Home Depot??? I am just taking a safety precaution in case I go there and they don't have Southdown.....oh by the way I already have an inch of live sand in my tank and I am going to apply this new sand in by getting a pvc pipe and a funnel to gradually pour it on on top of the live sand. yes, you can use other types of sand, southdown is just the most ideal. As long as the sand is sterilized, which pretty much all playsand is, then it should be ok. Some people say that silica based sand will get silica in your water, but this has been disproven. You should rinse any sand that you get before putting it in your tank though, good luck.
