Sand question!

I am new to the hobby and I wated to know if a mixture of
playground sand and marine sand would work in a reef tank.

you can but live sand is always better will have to clean the playground sand alot so there isnt so much dust

the only playsand i recomend would be southdown(if you can find it) you can cycle the tank with this playsand and lr/shrimp then after cycle put the live on top.
