Sand Question

I have the ability to buy 160lbs of white sand grain is 1/15 - 1/20. Sand origin is from California, would this be ok to use in my tank? Right now I am going to have mostly tangs/clowns/hermit crabs/shrimp. But want to get some sand sifting gobies soon too. If someone could give me a yay or nay I would appreciate it. Also, I in the next year I might start adding corals as well (not sure if that matters or not).

I think the same thing as I did on the other post on this subject. This seems to be to good to be true. Sand is not all the same.
Are you sure this is not "Playground/Fake Sand"
Also Did this person just scoop the sand off the beach? If so then NO. That sand is so tainted with Pollutants. it would take a year and a day to get it ready for the tank.
I would just go to the LFS get 2 20 lbs bags of Live sand and Build from there. That is your best bet ATM.
But that is just My Opinion.

whats a good low cost sand then? I dont need live sand I will buy a bag of that and seed the rest. What is a good sand to look for thats not "live sand" and people charge an arm and a leg.

For a 2 inch sand bed in a 72.5" by 18.5" footprint using aragonite at 70 pounds per cubic foot you will need approximately 110 lbs.
For 3" 165 lbs.
