Sand sifter is eating!!!

Hey guys I got my gold head sleeper goby eating frozen food. I thought I'd post my strategy here in case anyone finds it mildly useful.

The issue I had was not only did my goby not recognize food in the water column as food, they also hid during feeding time so the food would be gone before they came back out.

So what I did,
1) hid food in the sand near burrow. Goby ignored it. Also raised my nitrates

2) his garlic soaked food in sand, goby ate it. After one week it started actively going after areas with food about 10mins after I left the tank and all was quiet. Nitrates cane back to 0. Still not eating water coloumn food

3) After 2 weeks of this I almost gave up. I thought I can't be bothered putting food in the sand bed today. I just dumped the whole cup in above the rock where goby lives and walked off. I turned around and I saw his head poking out, eating mysis which was floating by. Finally!

4) future plan is to get him comfortable somehow to come out during feeding so I can't drip feed again instead of dumping. Any tips on this?
