Sand Sifter Question

Ok, I am looking for a good sand sifter fish to stir up the sand at the bottom of my tank. I hear that goby's are good for this, but I am not sure what kind of gobys are good. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the advice in advance!

Why do you want them to do this? Do you have an algae problem? All "sand sifters" whether goby, or seastar are eating beneficial creatures in the sand bed. And after they do it, they often starve.
Depending on your substrate and tank inhabitants, conchs, nassarius, cerith, or a sand sifting cucumber may be preferable options.

I have a Decorated Goby. I do not see them on the net at all, so I am not sure if anyone else here has one, but they are very good. Mine takes care of the sand, and he can also hold his own. I previously had an Orange Spotted Goby, but he only lasted a few months lol. I have had my Decorated Goby for years now. He will eat just about everything along with taking care of the sand. I like him cuz he isnt wimpy. he will even swim up and steal a piece of silverside from my Dwarf Lion and valentini puffer. He isnt afraid

i have a 5 inch finger dragonet, and he frikin rocks!, he burries himself in the sand and swims through it eating leftover fish food, and algae, i'd only recomend him if you have a well established live sand bed, but if you do you should definatly get one :joy:
