Ceriths snails and when I do a water change siphon the sand

I keep my sand clean with a few snails, a dragon goby and good flow. My sand had a brown gunk problem until I upped the flow at the bottom. Now I have my powerhead pointed in a way that it is just stirring the top of my DSB without causing any particles to float upward. The goby constantly grabs mouthfuls of sand in areas the flow cant get to and keeps the top layer churned.
