Sand

Can i add sand to a crushed coral bottom.
Tank is 2 months old and i wish now i would have went with a sand bed.

If you want it to stay as a sand bottem, you will need to remove as much of the CC as you can. Its my understanding that the CC will eventually work its way back up to the top.
You can seed the new sand by putting some old CC in a nylon and laying it on top of the new sand.

sorry to butt in.i have very little cc in my 55 gal.and we want to switch to ls.your saying that if i put the the sand down and put the cc in nylon,place it on the sand that it will seed the sand? my lfs wont give me the info and i really want to do it right. thanx alot! ps how long would it take?and when do u take the nylon out?
