With the recent trend toward bare bottom tanks - it's important for those of us that believe in our sandbed tanks to prove that they work. Keeping them stocked with diverse lifeforms is a very important part of the process weather you're using a DSB or SSB.
Trade with your friends, local groups, and sign up for the coast to coast sandtrade.
The 3rd Annual Coast 2 Coast Sandtrade will commense in January of next year. There is a signup sheet on my site (mods, please let this pass - it's important to the hobby).
1st year 55 participants
2nd year 65 participants
3rd year projected as 300 participants.
With more exposure through cooperative websites such as this one, I'm hoping to get the participant levels up. I'm also considering involving companies (like this one) that are willing to donate a small portion of thier best livesand for the mix. In addition, I have several sources of very diverse sand that I will purchase from in larger quantities to add to the diversification.
