this has probably been talked about a thousand times, but ive searched and cant find it,how does everyone feel about deep sand beds, mine is at the least 3 inches and at the most 5 inches, tank has been running for over 6 months with nothing more than two fish some hermits and snails, any forseeable problems in the future, im gonna have a chance in about a month to tear it down when my brother takes his fish back and i wonder if i should leave the sand bed or go bare bottom, any help will be appreciated

sandbeds can help with nitrates once they get going. if you do keep it make sure that you do not disturb it, if you do it most likely will not have a good outcome.
bare bottom tank are good if you are going to have an extreme amount of flow in the tank. you also wont have to worry about maintaining it
