sandpaper question

i know micro mesh starts at 1500, but if i decide to start with 600 and move my way up. Does the sand paper i use have to be "wet/dry" or can i just use the ones that they sell at home depot? The all purpose ones.
This is for deep scratches by the way. Thanks

Are you sanding acrylic? If so then use wet/dry. Think about 800 as a start. 600 is really coarse for plastics. I use a 3M product called finesit (sp) as a finishing product.
