Santa Came Early This Year!

Just put a 125 gallon tank on lay-away at the LFS. I have admired the sample reef tanks in this store for months and finally decided to take the plunge and try one myself. I have been doing a lot of reading and appreciate all information that folks share on this board. So far I have the aquarium and 100 lbs of live rock being cured. I am going to take this slow and try not to make the same (or as many) mistakes I made on my fish "only" saltwater tanks. I've tried to attach a photo of this tank but not sure if I'm doing it correctly. Hope you all don't mind if I ask a lot of questions over the next few months. I've already picked out the lights, but haven't a clue on what to order for water circulation and filtering equipment. Any suggestions (and photos) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Congrats to you !
Nice setup you got there, Only upgrade I'd do is get some metal halides or T5 Lights

Euro reef or deltec for your skimmer
ehiem or mag drive for return pump
tunze for powerheads

The lights in the photo were not included with the tank. I plan to order the Coralife 72 Inch Aqualight Pro lights for this tank as I have had a chance to see them in use.
I will take a look at the skimmer, pump and powerheads you have suggested. Thank you!

good choice in lighting, I hope you enjoy your new tank as much as the rest of us. slow and steady is definatly the key to success. there is no such thing as a stupid question (unless its can I put a nemo in with my gold fish, and thats not even a stupid question if you really dont know LOL) I'll try to keep an eye out for any questions that I can help with, I am a research fiend if I dont know the answer I can usually find it or point you in the ditrection of some one who can. some of my friends do what I call research wars when we have different opinions wich happens pretty often we track down as much research as possible to back our theories (god I sound like a dork)
welcome aboard.
