Scary crab id......

Found this guy last night. His pinsers are pointy, he's black with red eyes, his elbows are white, and his legs hairy. And I dont like him!!!:scared:

ps.....he wan not attacking the polyps, he was picking up scraps after feeding, and the very tips of his pinsers are red.

He kind of looks like an emrald grab but not the same color.

From what I know pointed pinchers = bad crab

Generally speaking, pointed pinchers are for tearing flesh=Carnivores...not too good.

the ends of his pinchers look flat to me...just like an emerald has...

I had one of those crabs for months before I ever saw him. The way I see things in my tank that I did not buy is: guilty until proven innocent. I took my out and took it to the pet store. My friend took it off me for store credit. I gave it up cause I was not sure what it was, but as far as I know it was harmless. Every time I saw it it was just eating live rock. But I agree with reefymark, his pinchers are flat. If you feel unsure about him, take him out for your sake, but Imho he is harmless, but I do agree with you, he is ugly and creepy looking. The red eyes do look EVILLLLLLLLL.

Looks close to the one i just found in my tank about 2 months ago . Mine just eats off of the live rck and harms nothing.
