its like a manderin it eats pods so if ou get one make sure you have a established tank. there very cool fish

I have 2 scooter blennies and I agree, they are great fish. To ensure they will thrive, have plenty of LR in your tank to provide an adequate pod population. Also, a nice 3-4" dsb will make them happy as can be cuz they love to bury themselves at night. Very peaceful fish, love to roam around the LR picking at pods and you can even treat them to some brine...mine come swiming up to the top when I am tossing brine in. If your live rock doesn't have a very strong pod population, go to a local fish store and ask them for some "sludge". This is the muddy residue in their LR tank (the stock they sell). Sludge usually has an abundant pod population and that will help boost your tank level. Place the sludge behind your current LR cuz it is rather nasty looking but FULL of food for blennies.

i've never heard of the 'sludge' idea before but that is a really good idea, i'll have to bug my LFS and see if they have any, my last blennies died :( but they are great fish. i've had trouble getting mine to eat anything other than copepods, usually they won't accept food like frozen brine or other foods, if you get one that does consider yourself lucky

LionStorm,
Yes, most LFS will give you some sludge to help you out. I've never seen any that actually sell it but I have also never had one that would not give me some. And I mean it is chock-FULL of life. When I first did my base rock I went back to do the actual LR to build it up....my LFS guy gave me about 2 gallons of sludge to get my pod population really booming and man are my scooters happy. At night when the pods are really active, I turn on my blacklights and every single rock and sand has pods just crawling everywhere.
Sorry to hear your blenny died :(
Try this idea and build up your pod system then try another one maybe.....awesome little fish.
