My obsession this week is aussie acans, the colors you can get them in is rather amazing. Should arrive on Tue or Wed and then the fragging party starts...

I hope you are joking about the "fragging party" though

jeez I guess I shouldnt mention how often I buy something and frag it while temp acclimating so I dont have to stress it out twice........ like my new colonies of zoas I got the other day I came home with 2 colonies now have 15... I just wont mention it.
Nice acan max. I lost my only acan when I moved. a rock shifted when I was setting everything up. I may get more as I start weaning out all my common softies. I definatly need to get rid of my sinularia as I am going to start putting more sps into my tank but, I digress. there IMO is nothing wrong with fragging something immediatly if you know what your doing. I always reccomend beginners or inexpirienced fraggers wait and see how it acts. max some how I think you may have fragged a coral or two before, call me silly but...

Acans are like idiot proof..like micros
They just dont seem to die.
I have hacked some up after I got them and 5min after put back in tank. Even 1/4 polyps had feeders sticking out. Frag away...Frag away.
Id buy some from ya but I already got that morph

I agree nice corals and I am very much a fan of acans. Even if it was common as long as you like it who else should care. It's not like you were planning on getting $500.00 per polyp. Keep posting pics because I love to see all the different color morphs of acan.

Yeah, I agree acans are really tough. I fraged another colony about a week ago and had a small, single polyp that was torn and only about half intact. I decided to try and save it and sure enough the dang thing is already eating and recoverd. Here are the latest additions, 1st is a Japanese acan, 2nd and 3rd are fully colonies of micros. The micros have about 16 polyps each. the Acan is a 4 polyp frag...

thats good becuase i just converted all my fake stuff and CC for live sand and rock into a reef tank. Now i'm in the hunt for some cool and good corals that i can put under my PC's.
I'm glad i have those types of coral under my types of lights.
