I currently have plactic "egg crate" lighting panels on the top of the tank, is that enough covering? Can they fit through the holes?

The Scott's Velvet Wrasse is also known as the Scott's Fairy Wrasse or Greenback Fairy Wrasse. The male has a bright red dot on the side of its blue-green body. The fins are ornately marked in yellows, pinks, and blues. The females generally do not have quite as bold markings as the males. When courting, the male will display an increased color intensity.
A 30 gallon or larger aquarium, either fish-only or reef, with a shaded area is recommended. Female tank mates introduced prior to or at the same time as the male arrival are acceptable.
The diet of the Scott's Velvet Wrasse should consist of a variety of feeder shrimp, flaked foods, and marine meats.
