Hello All. I have an acrylic that i just purchased(second hand) and have noticed several scratches in the front. You cant fell hem with your finger but can feel them with your nail. They are pretty obvious. The tank has not been setup yet. Does anyone know how to remove the scratches... , products, etc. I tried one product that was comparable to a soft sand paper designed for acrylic in which is has 6 diffrent roughneses. I tried it on a small area and it looks worse than before. Any help is appreciated.

Go to a glass shop and see what they suggest. I have seen products that buff out the scratcehs on acrylic at pet stores but don't recall the name brands.. sorry

I was not all that pleased with the "kits" available from mfg's for polishing out scratches.
I use 3M's stuff, works great! Go to an auto parts store (a good one) or a paint place. You need the Imperial Ultrafinishing and the Imperial Microfinishing compounds.... wet sand out the scratches with (depending on depth and severity of scratch) with 500 thru to 1200 grit and then use the Ultra then the Micro with a small buffing pad on a dremel-like tool or drill.
HTH :)

I did my 100g tank with 600 grit sandpaper and fine polishing compound (with cotton makeup squares) for custom cars, worked ok.
