Scribbled Rabbitfish

I found this fine looking rabbitfish on various websites and it looks like a nice choice versus the normal Foxface....
I also read that this guys can pair and possibly school.
So there has to be a downside, anyone had one before and know what the bad traits are?
Thanks in advance.

This is my favorite fish. Mine is about 5 1/2", and extremely tamed. He will even eat out of my hand. Always out and about, the leader of the pack so to speak with the tangs. A real gentleman in my reef. Has never eaten, knocked over, or nipped at anything that I have. They will pair if the tank is big enough, but as they mature will not tolerate another rabbitfish. Here is a pic of mine.

Do they develop those nice blues and colors or do they stayed faided out alot?
How would you compare tem to a Foxface? Think more than 1 can go in a 8' tank?
Look like a nice sub for a Yellow Tang without the risk of Ich.

Compared to a foxface.....they do get their blanched out look when frightened. Same as the foxface. Once established, they are very active, swim very, very fast. But overall, I like the coloring better. Mine has developed a lot of the blues in the striping. This picture does no justice to his coloring. Very much like the color of the ones you showed.
In a 8' tank I think you could introduce 2-3, so that they grow up together. I have tried to introduce another rabbitfish and mine has no parts of that. He has been in my tank for over a year. They are definately better than tangs in the aspect of "ick magnet". They eat a lot of veggies. He hits my algae strips like a pirrahna (sp?). Very aggressive in eating. I have stopped putting the strips on the clip, he just rips the clip and algae off it. I just put the strips in the tank and he goes for it. Quite a site, as the tangs and him demolish the strips pretty darn quick. I really think in an 8' tank you would be fine.
I honestly have no bad reports as far as this rabbitfish.

He pretty much stole the words right outta my mouth... Not really a downside to this fish at all. Good luck!

Would one of these be okay in a 180g with a couple tangs? (tank not setup yet, just wondering).

Excellent addition, there are others that would do well also: Magnificent, Uspi, golden, and foxface Lo.

But the Foxfaces are a '1 to a tank' fish, while these might be able to get away with multiples.

Yep, the scribbled rabbits are wonderful fish. If you have the tank to do a trio of them, I definitely would.
