scwd

tubing is minimal, but you will need a slip to barb adapter to connect it to your 3/4" input and about 2 inches of tubing, and a pair of hose clamps. what you need on the discharge ports depends on what you are doing with it. in my application, i used just enough tubing to butt together the scwd and the barb adapter to minimize room for light to get in and let algae grow.
plan to remove the scwd from whatever setup you have it in every couple months to clean it out and keep it from getting gummed up... so don't plumb it in in a way you will not be able to get back at it later.

do this. cut the threading off of the SCWD and glue on the 1/2" PVC piping with the plumbers PVC glue.

you are better off using flex tubing. It will be a lot safer w/ that, than shopping the SCWD up. Plus, if you ever wanted to seel the SCWD, you would have it unchopped. Just my thoughts!

I decided to use flex tubing after many painful trips to the LHWS. It endde up working out well. I am waiting for my satlt water to age before i add my new system!

ALso another question??? I am getting a t4 which is like 1800 gph (i know the swcd would hold that much but with head it should be alright) Of course i am trying to get as much flow as i can. DOes it matter how long your 3/8 tubbing is before the swcd or after the swcd. Humm let me see if this helps should i try to get as little 3/8 inch tubing as i can or does it matter???

SCWD, pronounced squid, stands for
Switching Current Water Director. It alternates the water, from side to side output. HTH
