SE MH Bulb Size - Physical Size - Question

I bought a single 250w MH system of E...bay for really cheap. Plan is to augment my 4x54w T5 system I already have.
So the bulb it came with is friggen huge! I mean it is 10" long and almost 2" in diameter! Is that right?
Also, it came with a 10k bulb which I plan to replace with a 14 or 20k bulb in the future. Which one, the 14k or the 20k?

Size wise they are huge. Remember NOT to touch the bulb with your bare fingers. Put on gloves.
We are using Radium 20k's (mogul based) in our 150g tank and XM 15k in our 75 (double ended bulb)

Yep, then it is right. Yea, I know not to touch them from halogen lights. Not sure what condition the bulb is in.
My t5's have 10k and actinics so I figured I would add some other color with this light. It is a single 250 over a 55g.
