I would like to purchase a Sea Clone Skimmer,
but my aquarium supply guy needs a model number off the newer model. Can someone please post it for me so I can order it.
Thank you all for your posts when I was deciding which skimmer to purchase. It was a really big help.
Thanks again...

Why don't you check out the manufacture's webpage at Aquarium Systems to see if you can get the info you need. I'm sure they have an email where you can contact them.
However, before doing that...can I talk you out of purchasing the Seaclone?? Speaking from personal exp and from knowing about eh negetive exp of many hobbyist, the Seaclone is a very troublesome skimmer, and, for many, it just does not work...AT ALL. If you notice on the link I gave you, Aquarium Systems actually has a Seaclone Troubleshooting section deadicated to problem solving for this particular equiptment. Now how many manufactures find it necessary to have a whole section dedicated to addressing problems with their equiptment?? Additionally, there are many online sites where fellow hobbyists and diyers have tinkered with the Seaclone, making various modifications, etc., trying to get it to work effectively.
Now, I don't know if their "new" model has resolved any of the issues, but, why buy a skimmer that already has a bad rap in the hobby.
I'm going to move your thread over the Equiptment Forum, where I think you will get some more input from the Equiptment gurus over there. Additionally, if you will use our Search feature on this BB, and type in Seaclone or Seaclone modifications, I believe you will receive a wealth of information about the skimmmer itself.
Good Luck!

Really? Can you give a comparison with the old and the new? I mean, what makes the difference between junk and great in the 2 models?

all the complantes i've heard have been about the old model. i have the new model and it works great for me. it always makes good dry foam and alot of it.a number of people on this board(who are new model owners)share my same opinion.the center tube length has been shortend to allow for more contact time.a rubber o-ring at the base of the collection cup for a good seal, the old model didnt have one.a new air adjustment design. the new model comes with a maxi-jet 1200 instead of a 1000.it can also be used as a hang on or an in-sump.i paid 82 dollars for it and it does a great job for me,so i will say nothing but good things about it.if i wasn't completely satisfied with it, I would never recomend it to anyone. thanx

The above post sums it up very well.
My seaclone works great also and is also a newer model.
What makes a good skimmer is the amount of tiny bubbles in contact with the water for the longest period of time.
So a lot of tiny bubbles agitated very well in a decent size chamber will make a good skimmer.
The biggest problem with the older models was the large center riser tube causing very little contact time with the water. The newer models solved this problem and work great. :D

One note about "Help Section" I think it was nice of them for putting up that though Beth :D
I see your point, if they have a area dedicated for troubleshooting, that means they are receiving number of complaints, right ? :)
Well, I wish (my opinion only) every manufacture would at least dedicate some area for "Support". Regardless of how fine product that might be, who knows who will encounter what sort of problems.
I work in the IT Industry. And often one of the complaint that I see where people looking for help on certain product and manufacture didn't make it available. But I know, I am mixing two different things, but you get the picture.
On a different note, I do have Seaclone protein skimmer which I had no problem with so far, doing a fantastic job (so far) and took me only 5 min to put it together. Then again, many might not aggree with me because they had problems
Just my 2 cents :))
