sea clone protien skimmer??????

okay.... I have a seaclone 100 protien skimmer. I was using it as a hang on and now I have installed a sump .
My question is it seems to be ALOT louder now ....does anyone have any recomendations on how to quiet this thing down???
Or does anyone know of a QUIET skimmer that works really well???

I have same skimmer in same setup. I put a piece ofplexiglass in the sump as a "splash" guard. The skimmer spits the water out on to the piece of plexi, then rolls down to the water's level.

Mike, Thanks for the reply.
It not so much the water splash ......I hear the air induction into the skimmer, more like a roar but not a vibration.
Do you have this problem?

But the noise isn't a waterfall sound.....Its the loud air mixing with water sound. VERY IRRITATING!!!
I can adjust the air mixture vavle to where I can stand it ,but then the tornado almost disapears. This prevents the anything to produce in the collection cup.

I found the problem!!!
When I plugged the pump directly into the base of the skimmer it was transferring a roar the skimmer and this was definetly creating the noise! SOULUTION ....I cut the "J" tube to where it the pump is about 4 inches below the water surface and hooked it back up. This evidently gives a little more and dosen't transfer the roar, vibration, noise! I'm happy again!! Thanks for the replies!!
