Admin is working on all of the problems on the boards, and I am sure he will then give us a verdict on the seahorse forum.

Hmmm...... so you think they're on to me, Bronco? I am the most patient ah...um...yeah they probably figured that one out when i first joined. They probably have my name red flagged with comments like"user is known to cause trouble" and "Do NOT give email out to this user"...."personality: NOT
patient"

Um a yeaaaaah...10.
And a a very nice group of people if I do say so myself! Besides...we don't want to be rude and post seahorse threads in every forum....it would much more polite, and considerate to the rest of the members....
If we had our own forum that is....

The seahorse population on the forums is indeed growing, and there are a lot of helpful and knowledgable people here who deal with and have experience with seahorses. Trust me, the forum is a serious consideration and many (if not all) of the mods are in support of it. It is just a matter of getting the mess and problems cleaned up before other things can happen.
Thanks for remaining interested though!!

I have always been interested in seahorses and have kept the dwarf ones off and on since the 60s. So I guess you could say I have been interested for the past 40 years or so.
At this time I do not plan on getting any, they are a lot of work, but always enjoy reading about them and viewing their pictures. I have read many an article about them, and would love to have them except for the constant feeding.
They are probably one of my most favorite creatures on the planet, and I especially like the leafy sea dragon. When I go to a public aquarium, I am usually near one of the seahorse or sea dragon tanks.
Rykna, my birthday is also in May, and maybe by then the seahorse forum will be up and running, it would be a nice addition to this site. I spend most of my time browsing the reef section, but would spend equal time in a seahorse section if it were availble.
Hopefully it will not be too long, these are fascinating creatures, we (actually I bought it for the wife) even have one that is blown glass. There are some nice pictures of the sea dragons on the divegallery site, I will not post a link, even though they do not sell anything, I did not check all the links though.

there are more and more people becoming interested in seahorses, I my self have answered many questions from new people thinking about getting them. These people need education just like anyone keeping a cetain type of fish but these are harder to keep and need specific things to keep them healthy. there are specific med that need to be used for a sick horse, more so then anyone treats fish. they have specific nutritional needs, and not to mention breeding and raising fry.. I think we can make a seahorse forum big on this site, and draw more people here.

I would still suggest to please post seahorse threads in the fish discussion forum. There is no need to post them everywhere...but that forum, for what we have available, seems the most appropriate for now.

True, However with all the other hundreds of threads flooding the fish forums, reef forums, etc. The sea horse threads get lost very quickly...and being that seahorses are a specialized type of fish.....like the Clown and Anemone forum.

It may be that it's easier to gauge the need for a separate board if the threads are predominately in one place. I know it's easier to search one board, than three others!
And they are fish, after all...
