aznxcheapbasta3,
Hello there,
First, you plan to put seahorses into a fairly new tank... someone correct me if I am wrong, but that's a recipe for disaster....
I thought corals where hard to keep, but Seahorse took the cake. My understanding about seahorses is that they DEFINITELY need Pristine water conditions, live food enriched for a higher protein intake, and a fairly new tank, will not have this. Again, someone correct me if I'm wrong...!
Secondly, if you have a biowheel, is this an eclipse tank...? If it is, let me know, because I had the same thing happen and figured out that the blue sponge on the top hood, that also holds carbon on the bottom side, had gotten a bit clogged, this will make the water take a different flow rate, thus making the biowheel not turn. Sorry for the convoluted explanation of the second point....
ps. If you do introduce the seahorses, let us know how you do...! :D
Good Luck...! ;)

They will die.. .. the sand will get into their gils.. they cont be in a tank with sand.. and yes the water has to be pristine.. keep the filter.. dont worry about the biowheel acting funny.. they do that.. ALOT.. but go out spend $100 on a DIY lighting and setup a nano if 10 gallons is all you have room for..

what kind of bio wheel filter.u could kept pipefish with them.or firefish or something really passive live chromis(green)

I think you should wait.Don't hurry, let your tank mature put a couple of damsels in there for a while since it is a small tank,You could always remove the few rock to put the horses in later.I'm not sure if a ten gallon would be too small.seahorses

HI, just a fast note I started a 2.5 tank with 10 dwarfs, and one pipefish(who had 18 babies). They are doing great, in fact I have Dwarf babies in there that are going to be three weeks old this Sunday.... Please email me if you need more info. there is only two places which I order from! nickersyaaa@yahoo.com

if u are stuck on sea horses buy captive bred ones from www.oceanrider.com once your tank is more established
