seaclone 100 skimmer??

Does anyone have this skimmer?
i am having trouble seting it, and all i get is 1,000,000 micro bubbles in teh tank.
what can i do to help that??

decrease the air flow. I'm not a big fan mine leaked all over my floor

best thing to do is buy a new one.....i have had mine for little over 3 months never had a 1/4 of a cup, even after i found a good air/water mix....still not good....im lookin for a new one now myself

the best setting for mine is ALWAYS with the valve fully open with the knob just about to fall out. there really isn't much adjustability. either you have the valve open and get good air but a low skimmer water level or poor air and a high water level. In effect I havent adjusted mine in a year to anything but full open. cant do anything about the bubbles. when I had mine hang on back they simply subsided after several hours to 24hrs after cleaning/water changes ect. It was never a full time problem except during the break in period.
still works as good as ever on my 30gallon

One of the best mods onthese skimmers is elimionate the air adjustment valve and install a new precise metaal air adjustment valve which is available at any well stocked lfs. The valve thats installed is a piece of you know what. Another worthwhile mod is shortening of the inner tube.

Same thing happed to me and i read that you should close the valve all the way and run it like that for up to 24hrs, then open it 1 1/2 turns. i didnt wait the 24 i waited till there were no more bubbles and been working fine since.

i think i am going to try to open the valve all the way, or try to find that substitute valve for it.

run it all the way open for awhile...mine works great but sometimes it gets plugged with all the crap and when i unplug it, it spills bubbles into the tank so i think it might just do that when its working hard...mine looks like Stanlalee's

When you say open you mean the air valve right??
i just opened mine all the way like you guys said to lol

I just ordered a coralife super skimmer. I am using a seaclone 100 right now and yes it does work...sometimes. But when it is working it produces a ton of microbubbles and I fixed that by putting the return pump in a micro sock but I got sick of missing with the seaclone and I figured whats a 150 bucks delivered for the 220 when I think about how much I have in my tank right now.

yeah that is true....i opened my valve all the way today too....but i would like to know how the super skimmer 220 works for you cuz i am thinking about getting that one myself

man are you guys going to be in for a suprise when you recieve the super skimmer 220. thing is HUGE. I went with a 125 for my 100g but I just afraid a 220 might not fit. this stand is 33 mind you (floor is 4.25" off the bottom) and you can see its still fairly tall

I went with the measurements from esu site so it should fit. I hope it does anyways. How many inches do you need to take the collection cup off?

virtually none, just unscrew and slide it off horizontally

mine barely worked until i just took off the black filter part, now it works like crazy w/o the bubbles, it's set half turn to quarter turn to fully open, i have to clean it out every three days or so

---why does taking the foam off have that much of an effect on the skimmer performance??
