seaclone good or bad???

HI tommowow im going to buy an seacolne 100 for my 55 gal reef its clean as an wisle but my nitrates are at 40 my pets seem to be ok though will the seaclone lower the nitrates much??

IMO, Seaclones are not worth their weight in plastic. I would save up a little more money and get a good skimmer. AquaC, ASM (if in sump), Octopus are all good brands.
For the nitrates, regular (weekly) 10-15% water changes can get those down.

I would recommend looking into buying a different skimmer. Search for a aqua c remora or a coralife super skimmer.
 
also would changing my filter more often help keep nitrates down The box says every 2 weeks but i do it about every 2 mounths lol
