I have a sea clone on my 55. I wouldn't go any higher than a 55 though. I do have problems with air bubbles though. I have fought them for about 1 month now. Hope things go good for you.

the seaclone does a great job on my 55 gallon. the thing i like about the seaclone is ,it can be used as a hang on or an in-sump model.

I like my Seaclone. It is only on a 45, but does a great job.
Air bubbles can a little pain, but usually come from to many water/stress treatment chemicals. Not enough bubbles indicate improper water level.
For the money and a simple modification it wors well. (online $70)

I wish I kne wof the $70. I must of been had by my lfs cause I payed $170 for mine. Anyway..mine seems to work great excpet all the freaking bubbles in the tank. I will be building a sump soon which will be the new home for my skimmer.

Well in my case I am having a gazillion bubbles shooting into the tank from the skimmer return flow. I have had the skimemr almost 3 weeks now I was hoping they would go away.

I had the same problem for a week but went away. Can you see through the main tube, or is it all cloudy with bubbles? you should be able to see the vortex.

Is it skimming? Does the cup tube turn black?
Have you added water treatment chem (stress coat, conditioners, cycle stuff)?

I could see the vortex at first ( i had a nice sized one ) then it went away and went to mostly bubbles. So I adjusted the skimmer again and can not get back to what I had. I do have alot of bubble going into the tank. I keep trying to adjust the setting so I get less bubbles, but it is not working in my favor... I have not added any chems or anything to the tank. <img src="graemlins//urrr.gif" border="0" alt="[urrr]" />

This is what worked for me.
Close the valve all the way.
This will remove any bubbles in the skimmer.
Open the valve about 1/4 turn.
This will let a very small amount of air in.
Walk away, come back in an hour
This will let it fill a little.
Check cup.
Repeat step 2 & 3.
After 3/4 open, let sit for a day.
I am at the point where my valve is almost wide open with no problems. Just took patience.

I have run with the valve closed for a bit then about a 1/4 turn ( just so a small vortex started) and I ran with that for a bit but I would still get bubbles in my tank

Just the rock for a filter. Maybee this is a problem. In a FO tank I have fount it to greatly help to have carbon filtration also. Carbon is supurb at removing chemicals. Even if you don't add any treatment stuff, there can still be some from the water. Are you using tap water? I do and havn't had any problems. I know I'm supposed to do the RO/DI water, but if it's not broken I don't fix it. I know the city adds flouride to our water supply, so what else do they add. The carbon takes it all out as far as I know.
