seaclone skimmer

my seaclone protein skimmer is totally brown redish algae inside of it . i can not even see the bubbles inside or the swirl.. is this ok? its been on for 3 months. my levels are fine.. i close the air valve a few tiems per week and loose algae shooots out that my tangs and angels love to eat so its been good in that regard? is this ok? should i treat this coniditon? or leave? thank for replies

well, i know mine always works better after a good scrubbing.it would probably be a good idea to clean it before it gets too hairy. if your fish enjoy it give it to them as a treat when you clean the skimmer.if you get too much algae growth inside, it will definitly affect water flow and in turn the efficientcy of the skimmer.
