Hi all
First let me say I have learned tons from you all over the years. New to posting so bear with me. To make this short...recently purchased 2 seahorses. Long story short have Vibrio. 1 died and other not gonna make it ( haven't given up yet though!) My main question is as this is bacterial infection, can other animals catch. nothing else in tank but if my girl dies will anything else put into tank catch as well. Thanks in advance for info.

The conditions that caused the problem could certainly result in its recurrence, however, bacterial infections are not really contagious.

Thanks Beth for the quick reply. My girl died this am. In hindsite i noticed the white on their tail when I purchased yet thought it was just their natural coloring. They were being held temporarily in a 14 gal biocube before moving to a 75 gal.tank. The biocube has 1 large live rock and live sand(long cycled before). I plan to make an invert tank ( too small for much else) Just want to put small starfish for now but have heard that starfish are suseptable to vibrio as well. Don't want to lose anything else. Have been in this hobby for about 10 years and losses have been extremly minimal- don't take the losses well. Thanks again and any insight is always helpful.
