Can diffrent types of seahorses be mated?

They can breed, but the question is should they. Not many breed hybreds.
Esch species of seahorse has differant requirments for raising fry. Differant species have differant size fry also.

Some, yes. Just like horses(the mammal) are cross bred, however, as Teresa said, breeding isn't all it's cracked up to be. And different species have different traits, habitat needs, etc. So it would take a lot of research to determine if 2 species of seahorses would make a good match for cross breeding.

Why are you asking? Usually if something is crossed on perpose it is to improve some traites. Is there a perticular thing you where trying to accomplish. Nature usually has a reason for what it has created.
