Seahorse mating help

Hello! I have a large black histrix seahorse. I want to get more, and was hoping that they would breed. Do you have to have 2 of the same type or could a yellow kuda breed with the black histrix? Also how do you tell the --- of a seahorse? Any other info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!

I would not mix species. hybreds would be more difficult to raise. Do you have a good size view picture of your horse. If its a male, you should be able to see his pouch. females have a distinct rounded area near thier anal fin, where males are more slanted.
