hey everyone.. i have a 29 hex that i just finished swapping out the rock and zoas into my new nano. I got the idea from a buddy, so i was wondering what do i need to make a sea horse tank?
i have a good 20 lbs of sand in there right now..i have 2 koralia #1's that i dont use..
1.what do I need for filtration?
2.do i need LR?
3.lighting?
i know they like alot of vegetation or bushes so they could wrap their tail around...would like some help from you seahorse ranchers!

Hi, yes live rock is nice - though I would just use base rock and let your live sand seed it. The less hitchhickers the better. A nice canister filter with a spray bar works great, unless you want a sump. One powerhead should be enough with the canister. If you are adding macros, then you will need pc lighting, that should about do it.
I may have forgotten something so I hope someone else will chime in.
Be sure to buy only captive bred horses - much easier then wild cought and less likely to get sick

just regular power compacts.
if not a canister then you will at least need a hob filter of some sort, Horses are messy eaters.
a skimmer is also helpful
