Always buy captive bred/make sure they eat before they are bought. keep them in a species tank, you might want to add some caulerpa or fake plants as ''hitching posts'' to hang on to..... go toseahorse.org They have boards and info dedicated to seahorse keeping. Good luck

I've done more reading in the last month or so then in the last 10 years, lol, not counting horror novels:).
i'm still debating what to put in the filter chambers, I'd like a protein skimmer, and the latest things I've been reading suggest a UV sterilizer since sea horses are so sensitive.. http://www.nanotuners.com/product_in...roducts_id=167
So far my setup will include the 29 gallon biocube, the sapphire bio cube protein skimmer, which fits the 29 gallon with the lid down, the UV sterilizer, jager heater, 40LBS or so of live rock including branch rock. Live sand of some sort, I live in canada so getting true live sand is not an option, no store has had it yet.
I also have a decent RO/DI unit.Should i make a fuge in one of the chambers or just go with filter floss, the skimmer, live rock and carbon? how does that sound. i'll be old and grey by the time i have a tank set up
:happyfish , but if there's one thing you can't do in this hobby, it's rush!. i already bought and sold a 12 gallon JBJ

I have also read there are many fish that can go with sea horse, such as yellow watchmen gobys, blennies and various others.
Are they worth the trouble compared to regular fish?, are they very friendly?, most places say yes.
i have not seen any in LFS's is ordering online a good idea?

Watchman gobies are GREAT fun to have in your tank and are quite docile. They LOVE mysid shrimp and might get a bit greedy about it, so you might try feeding them first and then going about spot feeding the horses.
My watchmans are great, add tons of color, and are super interesting to watch burrow and sift sand.
