Biocubes aren't really the greatest setups when it comes to seahorse keeping. They lack the necessary height needed for most large seahorse species (H. erectus, H. reidi), and they pose too many potential problems for dwarf seahorses in terms of flow, getting stuck against the overflow, etc. Some more experienced individuals on this board have overcome the problems of keeping dwarfs in a biocube in different imaginative ways, but I wouldn't suggest new seahorse keepers to try. Biocubes also have heat issues you will need to solve, as most seahorse species need water temperatures in the low 70's....no hotter than 72 degrees, and 70 is better. Your 36 gallon bowfront might fit the bill, depending on the height of the tank. Try and find a tank that is at MINIMUM 18 inches tall. You can use a HOB filter or Canister.
FInally, as I'm sure someone will tell you: read through the stickies on the top of this board. They're full of informative tidbits compiled by most of the regulars here, and they're a great place to start!
