i recently got the brown and red variety of these dried up seaweeds in hopes of my fish picking at that instead of eating all of the algae which is nice and long and green where it has not been mowed to the point of never knowing it existed before why would my fish not want to eat it? i attached it to a pvc part so it would sink to the bottom tommorow i will get a small piece of base rock to attach it to but they seem to have no interest in it the fish are
flame angel
coral beauty
nox angel
swallowtail angel
juv imperata angel
powder blue tang
there are many other fish in the tank but these are the ones who wont stop killing my pretty growth in the tank
thanx

Try putting it in a veggie clip near the top of your tank. Most tangs LOVE it and will chew on it happily!
Good luck

Ace,
Many of the fish you have in there would really love the green seaweed selects. Have you tried that?? It may just take a few times of you putting it in there before they find it and eat it. Keep trying!!

Hey is there anybody that knows how to keep the seaweed from turning into mush? I mean when I put it o the clip my naso goes after it but the little bits that are torn off make a mess and the next thing I know its all over the place. Try to catch all of floating ones is not an easy job!!

Myck I have the same problem which is why I don't clip Seaweed Selects! I guess you have to have ravenous fish that will chase and eat all the broken off pieces.

I use Nori instead of selects. It's cheaper and tangs love it. Green Nori can be picked up at any chinese grocery store. It also stays together as long as it is fresh.

so far...I have used romaine lettuce on a veggie clip for my scopas tang and it chews it all up within a day...not for nothin', but I prefer the romaine because it tends to make less of a mess...

I purchased a clip at the LFS that has a 3" by 3" plastic grid. I put the SS in between the two grids like a sandwich and it stays put nicely. My lemonpeel is always over there picking at it between the grids. I can usually leave the SS in the clip for 2 days without it being a mushy mess. It also works for formula II. Unfortunataly, I threw the packaging away so I cant tell you what the name was.
