My tank has ben set up for 4 months. Seaweed(brownish with leaves) or kelp is growing at areasonable rate. To me it looks natural, but I don't see it in dislpay tanks at the LFS or in pictures. Is it harmful or considered inappropriate for my tank?
I would identify the species and check it up, but in general macro algae are excellent for reef tanks. They will remove all the nitrates in the water. The only thing to whach with large amounts is a drop in pH at night.
