I've had two for over 2 years, they just get bigger and bigger. I haven't found out yet how they reproduce. I've searched on this forum and the internet. Maybe I will try again. But I don't think anyone has had them split.
My one is the size of a turkey platter.

I tried searching as well and couldn't find any good information. too bad eric borneman didn't include them in his coral book.

I haven't come across any references to them splitting in captivity. I would guess it's possible but seems no one has reported it. I do know that they are broadcast spawners. Mine occasionally releases semen into the tank. It looks like white smoke and can go on for quite some time (45 mins on one occasion). I am seriously thinking of fragging mine as it has grown from about 7" in diameter to about 15" now. If anyone has experience with this, please post back. I know I should make a symettric cut through the mouth but what do you do about the foot? Do we leave this intact so that only one half has it or do we attempt to cut this in half as well (which I imagine would be major trauma)?
