Secrets and Lies.......

I have to admit something that has been eating me up inside.........I haven't been 100% honest with all of you.
Many of you know me as RyeBread the PhotoGuy. No more. I still take photos and I always will, but my occupation as a camera sales manager has come to a screeching halt. I quit my job. :D
I recieved an offer that I only could have dreamed of about a month ago. My LFS owner has a custom aquatic ******** service as well. I have known this owner for several years and become fairly good friends with him. I am now his partner. :)
I now am in charge of ordering Fish/Corals/Dry Goods and Supplies for our store as well as managing our Aquatic Services. We have many accounts throughout our area and we build / take care of some pretty elaborate systems.......pretty exciting. I truly am doing something that I love.
I certainly wouldn't consider it a dream job since my first few weeks have been in the 60-65 hour range. Tired. But, it will get better once I get the hang of how everything works and get myself into a good groove. I tell you what though.......it sure is cool having the control of ordering what fish and corals I want to see in the store!
I have been extremely busy at work lately, but I hope that it doesn't cut my time out too much from you guys.......I love you guys! :D

We love you too, Rye! Sounds like a great job! A friend of mine is trying to get me onboard for a similar job, but it would be a total start-up business, and neither of us has started a business before. Anyways, I'm very happy for you! Perhaps you can give me pointers down the line on how to go about my own potential business of setting up and maintaining aquariums.

Ok no ordering Flower Pots, Anemones, Mandarins, etc...etc....
It can start with you :) Hehehe. J/k. Maybe you can set up a dual front with the owners of Salt.com.... You guys could start a global franchise and take over the world.

Oh yeah Ryan, you liar! At least now we can come clean profess our love to each other!
I'm kidding. I'm also jealous. I'm also curious to know more about your new work. I couldn’t image spending someone else’s money to build huge systems all the time!
I'm currently unemployed and looking for a GOOD income before my money runs out. What light can you shed on this career/business as a "Custom Aquarium Tech?" What kind of stuff do you do custom-wise? What did you still have to learn?
I'm a photographer myself. I have a diploma in Public Relations, Journalism, and Photojournalism. I worked for a while as a journalist, a photojournalist, and a dental insurance adjuster, but I quit all those jobs too!
The only thing that seems to make me happy doing work these days is computer or aquarium stuff, so I thought of starting my own internet aquaria business up here in Vancouver.
:D :D

Sooooo.......your going to hook us up with lots of cool freebies ;) .Good luck!I know what you mean.I must confess I just quit my job and was already hired on to open thier next restaurant as the Executive Chef.About a $15,000 a year raise.I took a pay cut of $125 a week to work in a new place down the street from my new house.I will be much happier and can walk to work.No more rush hour traffic and stress from the high volume, etc.I will be able to buy into the business next year and they are already planning the next place. So,a little step back and later,a big step forward.Let us know how things develop for you,and you always have the camera experience that will come in handy!
