Seeding base rock

Iam thinking of buying like 80LBS. of calcium carbonate base rock and 50LBS of LR. Would this work? I mean how long would it take to seed the 80LBS and would it lengthen the cycle period? Thanks in advance.

Greetings and welcome to the forum.
Yes that will work. Your baserock will become alive with the bacteria in about two months, it will take say.....6 to 18 months depending on conditions in your tank for it to be covered in coralline algea, inhabited by pods, peanut and bristle worms, tiny feather duster and the like.
